Sign up to save Robin Hood Gardens now!

For the next two weeks, Building Design will be collecting signatures in favour of listing Robin Hood Gardens before presenting our petition to English Heritage by March 7th.

  • I still believe that a more creative approach should be taken to our country's heritage, surely we can regenerate and develop these buildings without replacing them with the drab, uninspiring architecture which seems to appear in their place.

  • This is unquestionably an important building historically, on a world scale. The significance is partly historical (the significance of the Smithsons) and partly in its approach to the site and creation of open space and views of the sky. It is now functioning better than ever before as a social resource for housing local people.

  • Like it or not, this is a major part of our DNA as british architects. There is a little bit of this socially utopian vision in all of us, and even in the face of great failure we should not forget such visions. Save Robin Hood.
