Project is due to complete in March 2017

Hanover Square, Make

Make has been given planning consent for an office and residential redevelopment in Hanover Square, London.

The scheme will comprise 864sq m retail and restaurant space beneath a 5202sq m office arranged over eight stories.

At the rear of the site, there will also be a separate residential building with five two-bedroom apartments and a three-bed penthouse.

The building will be clad in Portland stone, incorporating artwork by Catherine Bertola.

Work is due to start on site in August 2014, with the project expected to finish in March 2017.

  • What a ghastly building.

  • I agree with Martin. This squalid building reveals a complete lack of design ability. But Make seems to be able to walk on water.

  • According to Shuttleworth, Make is "... one of the best architects in the world."

If there was the merest grain of truth in this egregious statement, they would not have let a dog like this see the light of day.

  • Wrecking what until now, despite everything, has been one of London's elegant squares.
