Entries pour in for Nobel Prize Centre competition
Over 20 entries from UK firms
The Nobel Foundation has received 142 expressions of interest in its competition to design a permanent Nobel Prize Centre in the centre of Stockholm. The Foundation said 23 had come from the UK.
They will be whittled down to about a dozen next March on the basis of portfolios and a written design approach. Smaller practices will also be invited to make a presentation to the selection committee.
The competition is for a “landmark building”, which carries a £100 million price tag, that will house a museum, offices and an auditorium for the Swedish Nobel operation – which is responsible for all but the peace prize.
