Earle Architects reveals school plans for Aylesbury Estate
Earle Architects has designed an extension to a London school – complete with a playground on the roof
The £900,000 design provides Surrey Square Junior & Infant School in Southwark with new kitchen and dining space beside its main Victorian building. Its sloping green roof created extra outdoor space, and allows pupils to travel between it and the playground via an 8m-long slide.
The 330sq m building on the Aylesbury Estate was funded by Aylesbury New Deal for Communities, Southwark Council and the Bishop of Woolwich.
