Arup profits head north
Turnover close to £1 billion
Arup hiked profits up by more than half last year as turnover closed in on £1 billion.
Accounts filed by Arup Group at Companies House reveal pre-tax profits were up 56% to £38.2 million while revenues inched up 3% to £992 million.
In a statement the group, which includes Arup Associates, said: “Despite challenging economic conditions, the group’s market has stabilised. Noticeable changes in geographical turnover were increases in the Australasia and Asia regions and decreases in the Middle East and Africa region.” Its workload in the Americas was also on the rise.
The number of staff it employed in the year to March 2012 broke through the 10,000 figure with the firm adding another 365 staff to its payroll to end up at 10,135.
The salary of the highest paid director, who is not named, was up a third to £564,000.
