Arup on board for Santiago metro job
Architect to design 11 stations in the Chilean capital
Arup has been appointed to design 11 metro stations in the Chilean capital of Santiago.
The project involves designing stations for two new lines being built by Metro de Santiago and will mean creating interchanges with the existing network.
Leszek Dobrovolsky, project director at Arup, said: “Our global expertise in metro systems played a part in winning the work, but it was our ability to respond to local programmes and context, cost and programme constraints that clinched it.”
Arup will be responsible for station planning, ventilation, fire engineering and passenger movement analysis.
