I guess Will is trying to tell us that he is more important than the work. Why else include yourself blocking out a view of your desk.

Yes, Alisa, Will doesn't quite conform to traditional views of functionalist interior design: When to specify bookshelves and when to specify a desk? Tricky question for some. This rejection of such engrained social norms has been one of his strengths as an architect.
