BD takes a look at the workspaces of architects

Mary Bowman said: “I took this photo on a bright morning with the sun streaming across our desks. Neil’s is the tidier desk near the window and mine is the cluttered one in the foreground. In between is the sketching desk.

“Our office is on the third floor of a building in Kentish Town and we have great natural light coming from three sides and a view of tree and roof tops. From the corner window we can see the Shard going up.

“On the wall is a plaster model of the Westerpark in Amsterdam and on the window sill a small model of the landform for the Enlightenment Garden at the Venice Biennale in 2008. As far as we know, the landform still exists although it was meant to be a temporary.”
