BD takes a look at the workspaces of architects

Bob Stern said: “This desk is where I answer my correspondence and have quiet conversations with colleagues and clients; but it’s not where I actually work. Work is in the studios—what we call our war rooms, where design teams gather over study models, pin up drawings, etc.

“That’s where the real action takes place.”

  • How the hell do you get to the chair on the far side? Crawl under the table. Did Stern plan that?
    Deathly dull like his architecture.

  • "why do people feel the need to get so offensive on this section god only knows" Karl - only God may know, but I'll make an educated guess: The whole banal thing is a conceit, a charade, a construct in vanity. The comments that follow rightly pick up on this, hence the frequent mockery and vitriol.

Shaker style meets a new build East Coast motel? Now I understand Stern's architecture.

But the composition of lamp, stacked books and coffee jug behind doesn't quite work.
