Alsop Sparch has picked up an award for its pavilion at Headingley cricket ground in Leeds.

The 4,000sq m pavilion, designed by Will Alsop before he left for RMJM, has been built for Yorkshire County Cricket Club and was an overwhelming winner of The Insider Property Industry Awards.

The judges described the pavilion as a “brave building that will stand the test of time and be seen by a global audience”.

As well as a pavilion, the building doubles up as Leeds Metropolitan University’s school of tourism. It opened in the summer.
