Spectral Equalisation: Ground-breaking technology to be debuted at The ARC Show 2012
The ARC Show is pleased to announce that a variety of world-exclusive sessions will debut at next year’s conference.
Organised in association with the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and taking place at the heart of the The ARC Show, the IALD Enlighten Europe Conference will bring two days of networking, knowledge sharing and debating for the lighting industry.
A highlight of the programme will undoubtedly be the session on the new and ground-breaking technology: Spectral Equalisation. Presented by Joe Bokelman from ETC, this will be an industry exclusive.
Spectral Equalisation is in essence a new technology that allows a white or coloured light source the capability of being tuned to vibrate and enrich certain colour wavelengths whilst still appearing as a constant colour to the human eye. Spectral Equalisation will completely change the way in which we use colour, so this session is a must see for those lighting designers keen to be kept up to date.
Durham Marenghi, who will be introducing the session, commented “I’m thrilled to be able to introduce such a fundamental new innovation in our use of lighting technology in lighting design to The ARC Show. As the leading industry event for the lighting industry, I could not think of a more ideal platform to present this alignment and fusion of art and science.”
The ARC Show is also proud to be working with BD magazine, the UK’s best read weekly title for architects. BD magazine will be chairing a series of talks by leading lighting designers Dominic Meyrick, Sally Storey and Jeff Shaw on Thursday 1 March as part of the conference. Speaking on the importance of lighting to architecture, Editorial Director Amanda Baillieu notes: “Lighting is an integral part of design. Even the smallest change in how a building or a space is lit can dramatically alter our experience. A beautiful building can be ruined by bad lighting but equally a mundane car park can be transformed to seem quite magical.” On BD’s collaboration with The ARC Show Amanda comments: “I’m looking forward to chairing the session with four lighting designers at the top of their game.”
The conference has brought together renowned industry professionals to deliver invaluable insights on the direction of the latest trends including LED’s and Daylighting and exploring a lighting masterplan for the a world class venue such as the Olympic park. These include Mark Sutton Vane of Sutton Vane Associates Lighting Design, Arfon Davies from Arup and Julie Greer of Greer Pritchard.
World-renowned light artist Michael Bosanko will make his UK speaking debut presenting an insight into some of his most imaginative works. Other confirmed speakers include Kevin Grant, IALD who will discuss city master planning and Paul Traynor who will explore how our cities and towns are affected by the way we light them.
The IALD are global leaders in setting the standard for lighting design excellence, cultivating the universal acknowledgement and appreciation of the Power of Light in human life.
The IALD Enlighten Europe Conference will take place at The ARC Show, the UK’s only trade event dedicated to showing the latest architectural lighting products. Prices start from £150 for a one day pass and £250 for a two day pass.
