This week the much missed Urban Trawl series returns to BD with a thorough examination of the maligned town of Middlesbrough.
To celebrate this, and the launch of his new book A Guide to the New Ruins of Great Britain which is based on the first collection of Urban Trawl articles that appeared in BD last year, author Owen Hatherley will be taking your questions live from 3pm on Friday.
The 29-year-old architecture critic Owen Hatherley is a regular contributor to BD, and also writes for the New Statesman, the Guardian, Icon, Socialist Worker and Socialist Review.
He also runs the popular blog Sit Down Man, You’re a Bloody Tragedy where he writes about books, pop music and, of course, architecture.
His reputation as an uncompromising champion of Brutalist design was secured with the publication of his first book, Militant Modernism, in 2009. He has recently released the critically acclaimed A Guide to the New Ruins of Great Britain which is loosely based on the Urban Trawl series that appeared in BD last year.
