Wilkinson Eyre has submitted plans for a footbridge between two Deutsche Bank buildings in the City of London.
The practice wants to build a bridge over Great Winchester Street, linking Deutsche Bank’s offices in Winchester House and Pinners Hall on Old Broad Street.
The bridge will link the two buildings at fifth-storey level. Curved glass facades will be supported by stainless steel fins at regular intervals. Translucent glass floor panes will be back-lit to provide a “soft glow” along the length of the walkway.
Wilkinson Eyre said: “The form of the bridge has been conceived to have a visual presence but appear light. We feel it is important not to create an overbearing presence since Great Winchester Street is already physically quite constrained.”
