A sister venue to Thomas Heatherwick’s East Beach Café opens next month, run by the same award-winning mother and daughter team.

The West Beach Café, also in Littlehampton, has been created by architect Asif Khan. It is his first commission since graduating from the Architectural Association last summer. Khan also designed the tables and chairs, and collaborated with artist Peter Liverside on the lighting. The new structure, at the mouth of the River Arun, will be built entirely from local materials, including furniture, signage and steel window frames.
