The construction industry cannot afford to waste any more time debating which scientific data it prefers to believe. There is a “good enough” consensus among climate scientists that humans can affect climate

There is a more pressing issue, and one we know enough about to be the appropriate debaters: “what will a low-carbon future look like and how do we build it?”

CIBSE believes that changing buildings and cities is the first and fastest step to a less carbon-intensive world. Engineers and architects need to be united in their vision and approach. Neither can sit back and wait for change. It is vital that building services engineers take research to reality — to interpret physics and numbers and demonstrate how ambitious climate change targets can be met.

CIBSE is committed to inter-disciplinary working across the professions. We invite all who share that objective to join us now.
