The loss of England’s greenbelt

As much as 10,000 acres of greenbelt is under threat from development, the Campaign to Protect Rural England has warned today. Research, conducted jointly with the Guardian newspaper, suggests the most ambitious building programme for more than 30 years is set to have a detrimental effect on protected rural land.
