A packed programme has been unveiled for the free Sustainability Now virtual conference on December 8 and 9.

Confirmed speakers include Miles Keeping, head of sustainability at GVA Grimley, Guy Battle, the founder of Dcarbon8, and Neil Jefferson, chief executive of the Zero Carbon Hub.

The schedule runs from 8.30am to 5pm both days, but the beauty of a virtual conference is that you simply “attend” from your desk the sessions most relevant to you. You can visit the exhibition hall and networking lounge at any time.

The event kicks off with a keynote address from Paul King, chief executive of the UK Green Building Council.

Other sessions include a live text discussion with John Slaughter, director of policy at the Homebuilders Federation, on the government’s minimum energy efficiency standard for zero-carbon homes.

Peter Head, director of planning and integrated urbanism at Arup, will look at the implications of Copenhagen for architecture.

And there will be a video report on the One Brighton housing project which claims to set a new benchmark in environmental standards.

There is also still time to register for the Education Now virtual conference on December 1 and 2. It is aimed at architects and other professionals building schools.
