Building is final part of Clapham One regeneration
Clapham Library by Studio Egret West
Studio Egret West’s new Clapham Library has completed and opened to the public yesterday (July 2).
The building is the final part of the £80 million Clapham One regeneration scheme, delivered with Cathedral Group and United House.
Community uses at the library are focused on the ground floor with residential units above. Meanwhile, the wider development also includes a leisure centre, GP surgery and affordable housing.
The site, a former office block called Mary Seacole House, was donated for use by Lambeth Council and the community buildings were paid for by the private sector apartments on site.
