Ann Skippers (pictured) has succeeded Martin Willey to become the new president of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Skippers, who was formerly the senior vice president of the RTPI and runs a planning consultancy with her husband, formally took over the role on Wednesday and will hold the position for a year.

Her priorities include raising the profile of planning, working more closely with other built environment professions and promoting planning as a career.
