Architect’s scheme triples existing space at Aspen museum

A new art museum in Colorado by Shigeru Ban is due to open this August.

Construction work began last August and the new building will feature just over 3,000sq m with half that given over to exhibition space.

The museum was set up in 1979 with the new building tripling the amount of exhibition space at the current Aspen Art Musuem.
