Rural Urban Framework lands prize

The RIBA has named Rural Urban Framework as the winner of its inaugural RIBA International Emerging Architect prize.

The research and design collaborative was set up in 2005 by John Lin and Joshua Bolchover as a non-profit organisation providing design services to charities and non-government organisations working in China.

The award was given for the practice’s plan for Angdong Hospital in China’s Baojing County in the country’s east.

Commissioned by a Hong Kong charity and working closely with the local health bureau, the practice has developed a model rural healthcare building.
