Institute to run series of events on sustainable architecture and design

The RIBA has announced a series of events at the Ecobuild conference to be held at the ExCel Centre in London from March 20-22 next year.

RIBA president Angela Brady said the events were aimed at highlighting the importance of architects in eco-friendly building.

“The RIBA and its members are taking a lead in both thinking and practice when it comes to sustainable design and construction,” she said. “Ecobuild provides a unique opportunity to share knowledge with colleagues from across the industry.”

Seminars on various aspects of sustainable architecture and design will be complemented by a series of CPD sessions and a stand in the exhibition area.

Brady will lead a discussion on procurement, while RIBA chief executive Harry Rich will be discussing localism with a panel including BD columnist Jonathan Glancey.

The RIBA’s Sustainable Futures Group will be running a three-day programme of seminars on sustainable architecture and design.

Ecobuild is a three-day sustainable building conference run by BD publisher UBM.
