Staff moved to allow redevelopment of Shell Centre site
Pringle Brandon has been appointed to design the fit out of Shell’s offices at the Cesar Pelli-designed 40 Bank Street building in Canary Wharf, London.
The petroleum giant is moving about half of its staff out of its offices at the Sir Howard Robertson-designed Shell Centre near Waterloo while the surrounding site is redeveloped.
Canary Wharf Group and Qatari Diar paid £300 million for the site earlier this year and plan to develop a mixed-use scheme. Shell is expected to take a 20,000 sq m pre-let in a new tower at the site.
Shell will occupy about 18,600 sq m over nine floors of the 153m-tall 40 Bank Street building, using a desk sharing approach to reduce space requirements.
