PRP has won a contract to provide fire-consultancy services to housing association Notting Hill Genesis for its 138-home Perfume Factory development in North Acton.

The scheme is part of Darling Associates’ 374-home redevelopment of the former Elizabeth Arden factory in west London, which features three residential towers – the tallest of which is 34 storeys in height.

Notting Hill Genesis has acquired two of the towers for affordable housing. Seventy-eight of them will be offered for affordable rent, while the remaining 60 will be offered for shared ownership.

PRP won the Perfume Factory commission after being appointed to Notting Hill Genesis’ four-year fire-safety framework.

PRP partner Andrew Mellor said the appointment was a call-off from Lot 2B of the framework and that the firm was “delighted” to have been selected.

“Our commercially-focussed, dynamic and forward-thinking project team will draw from their unrivalled expertise in fire safety – from design through to the construction, occupation and refurbishment stages,” he said.

“We look forward to working with the wider project team to deliver a safe, compliant and occupancy-focussed scheme.”

Work to build out the Perfume Factory scheme started on site in October 2021 and is due to be completed in March 2024.
