Firm shifts Swiss HQ to London ‘to capitalise on Brexit’

Dario Franchini and Diego Calderon

Architects vote with feet by relocating staff from Lugano to Holborn

Dario Franchini and Diego Calderon have moved the headquarters of their Swiss-based practice from Lugano to London in a bid to “capitalise” on the opportunities they believe Brexit offers.

In the process, the pair have also relocated their architecture team to the UK studio in Holborn, and rebranded the practice DF_DC.

Staff remaining in the Swiss studio will concentrate on strategic planning and larger projects – which currently include masterplans in Mozambique, Italy and Mexico, and a 324-home scheme in the Swiss city of Bellinzona.
