SMEs urged to ‘go global’ as Boris Johnson launches boost to business exports
Architects including John McAslan & Partners and Swanke Hayden Connell are part of a trade mission to Istanbul, Turkey to help boost London SMEs exports to the region.
UKTI and the deputy mayor for business and enterprise, Kit Malthouse, will lead the trip, which includes 17 London companies from various sectors including design, security, architecture and construction.
Boris Johnson said: “Whilst many larger companies are already competing well in the foreign marketplace, small and medium firms can often focus on domestic growth alone. My message to them is to ‘go global’ and we want to help them take this step.”
The delegation will meet with UK SMEs already present in Turkey and MUSIAD, one of the largest business organisations in Turkey. They will visit the Istanbul Finance Centre and attend networking events.
