After discovering his captivating Potsdamer Platz 1 in Berlin, which actually uses the same brick as Fritz Höger’s Chilehaus did 70 years earlier, I’m delighted to see Hans Kollhoff continue to prove that the contemporary urban tower can be comfortably clad in something other than glass (Buildings March 8).
Kollhoff’s passion for careful detailing and humane, accessible public space is also part of the northern European tradition and is similarly welcome.
Who will give him a British commission?
