Institute's competition crises

In January, another design competition was undermined when Newham Borough Council rejected an RIBA jury's unanimous choice for an £8 million social housing scheme in Plaistow, east London. Newham chose instead to back second-placed Bell Phillips Architects for the Brooks Road Estate project.
