Foster’s Bloomberg Place wins Cabe approval

Bloomberg Place by Foster & Partners

Design review panel praises ‘sensitive response’ to brief

Foster and Partner’s plans for a 110,000sq m headquarters for financial newswire Bloomberg in the City of London have won the backing of Design Council Cabe.

Bloomberg Place, comprising two 10-storey buildings linked by a covered arcade, was described by Cabe as a “sensitive response to a challenging site at the heart of the City of London”.

A number of planning restrictions apply to the site, including height limits imposed to protect the St Paul’s Cathedral viewing corridor.
