A new £9 million community health centre designed by Young & Gault Architects has opened in Fort William.

The town’s three existing GP practices, all local departments and clinics of the Highland NHS Trust, social workers, Citizens Advice and a retail pharmacy will all be housed in the new building.

The centre has a naturally lit central hub which houses the main reception and leads to each waiting area, with further corridors connecting to each department.

The building, which stands against the backdrop of Ben Nevis, is clad in timber, granite and copper sourced locally around Fort William.
