Projects will be delivered across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Nottingham and Preston

Eight architects have been selected by a consortium of northern housing associations for its £180 million home building framework.

JV North, which has 11 housing association members across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Nottingham and Preston, has appointed the firms for projects with a construction value of £1 million and above. The four-year framework starts this month.

The architects appointed are: AEW Architects, Arcus Consulting, Bernard Taylor Partnerships, BYA, Halsall Lloyd Partnership, John McCall, MDA Architects and Paddock Johnson Partnership.

Additionally four principal designers were chosen: Derek Evans Partnership, John McCall, Nicol Thomas and WYG.

They join 12 contractors and 10 consultants on the framework.

Approximately 2,000 homes – for rent and ownership – will be delivered through the framework.

The second stage of JV North’s framework – for projects valued at under £1m – will be launched later this month.

JV North plans to spend £335.5 million building nearly 3,000 new homes under the Government’s Shared Ownership Affordable Homes Programme.
