Woodward Smith Architects-designed family house on show at Birmingham exhibition next week

A three-storey sustainable family house will be on show at this year’s Interbuild event, which takes place in Birmingham next week. The timber-framed scheme is designed by Devon-based architects Woodward Smith and is aiming to achieve level 5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

The designs are set to be used at a private development planned for Barnstaple in Devon, which is aiming to become an eco-town.

The team behind the scheme, which also include contractor Loosemore and project manager David Richard Associates, claim the house is affordable as well as being green.

The exhibition will also be showing a timber-framed house built to Passivhaus standards and manufactured offsite by a company called Elements Europe. Their scheme aims to achieve Code Level 4 status.
