The historic Hong Kong practice has designed some of the territory’s most prominent buildings since its creation in 1874, including the Ritz Carlton Hotel, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, a number of churches and phase two of the Hong Kong Science Park.
Last year it won a 28,000sq m campus for Chu Hai College, in partnership with OMA. It will be home to three faculties — arts, science and engineering and business — containing 10 departments and two research centres.
The practice, with offices in China, south-east Asia and the Middle East, earned fees of more than $30 million last year and predicted profits of $3 million. It completed the refurbishment of the Vanguard Fun2 four-storey shopping centre in Nanshan, Shenzhen, along with a new-build leisure park.
