Over the pod is a spectacular ETFE roof spanning the courtyard of the Leslie Martin-designed school, which opened first in 1959. The structure of the wide-span, translucent roof is deliberately unobtrusive, resting on the perimeter of the structure unencumbered by supporting columns.
