Peter Mandelson has launched the government’s low carbon construction innovation and growth steering group, which will review the industry’s fitness for reducing carbon emissions.

The group is chaired by Paul Morrell, who was recently appointed chief construction adviser, and includes Atkins chief executive Keith Clarke, Arup chairman Terry Hill, as well as developers and climate change organisations.

Morrell said: “Our aim is… to ensure a road map is in place for the industry to play their part in delivering a low carbon future.”
