FGS facing the future construction survey banner

The future of building envelopes and facades, like the construction industry and the broader technological landscape, is going through a period of change. Facing these changes is essential for the future development and evolution of the construction industry, and now more than ever is the time for organisations to come together, share best practice and act to improve its future.

To help shape the conversation, specialist contractor Façade & Glazing Solutions working in partnership with Building, invites the industry to share their thoughts, views and opinions on the future of construction and building facades.

FGS hopes the findings from this research will provide an insight into how the industry feels in a post Hackitt environment, how well informed they feel of potential changes to legislation and regulation and where they feel the hot opportunities are for investment, innovation and development in the future.

Who should take part?

FGS and Building would like to hear from anyone who has an opinion or wishes to help shape the future of building façade design and construction. Architects designing high-rise residential schemes or sprawling industrial estates and everything in between. Developers with a view on how they can add value to the construction landscape through developing buildings alive with technological innovation, green infrastructure or have a desire to do things differently. The consultants and surveyors identifying products and services that will bring a design to life, and the contractors who are responsible for making everything happen. The financiers, facilities managers and underwriters all have a part to play and this survey hopes to capture everyone’s views.

How to take part

The first step is to click this link and take part in the Facing the Future - Big Construction Survey

How long will it take to complete the survey?

Time is precious and as such, the survey has been made as succinct as possible. It is expected that it should only take four to five minutes to complete.

Why facades?

Facades represent a significant element within the building envelope. The current focus remains on creating buildings that are energy efficient and comfortable for the occupiers whilst adding to the look and feel of the design landscape. But in an ever-changing environment where the safety of buildings is paramount, along with design and environmental factors, what will the future hold for façade design, creation and installation?

What will the information be used for?

The results from this survey will be presented and used to shape a Building Live event on 13th November. The event will be held at the Bloomsbury hotel in London, which will see a results presentation from FGS’ CEO; Craig McGilvray.

What’s in it for you?

As well as sharing your voice and views on the building facades and helping to shape the future face of construction, your completed survey will be entered into a draw to win a new Apple iPad Air.
