Masterplan for multi-hotel development and ocean-facing beach houses gets government backing
Chapman Taylor has seen its masterplan for a 1.1 million sq m “eco resort” on the east coast of Vietnam win government approval.
The practice’s Bangkok office drew up proposals for a development of seven hotels and 500 ocean-facing villas at Mui Dinh.
It said the plans were inspired by the rich local history of Mui Dinh, which is around 170 miles from Ho Chi Minh City, and particularly the area’s Cham tribal culture and architecture.
Oscar Martinez, director of Chapman Taylor’s Bangkok studio, said the resort’s hotels would deliver a total of 7,000 rooms and that they and the villas would have a leisure offering that included a theme park, casino, beach club, and mountain clubhouse.
“We are delighted that the Vietnamese government has given its full support to our masterplan and this ambitious and unique eco-development, which will transform this beautiful coastal area into a new exciting sustainable destination and give an economic boost to this region of eastern Vietnam,” he said.
