Biennale gossip: Parmesan nights
Less than favourable write-ups didn’t dampen the party mood at the British Pavilion
Despite less-than-enthusiastic reviews of the British Pavilion, its party on Tuesday proved a great success.
Guests including RIBA chief executive Harry Rich, the AOC’s Daisy Froud and dRMM’s Alex de Rijke and Sadie Morgan joined curators Vicky Richardson and Vanessa Norwood who laid on endless prosecco, a giant parmesan, watermelon platters and a candle-lit lawn. A heady combination that ensured it lasted well past its official 9.30pm finish.
But it’s my party
Sadly the endless prosecco proved too much for some. British Council press officer Alex Bratt loudly insisted he be let to the top of the queue for the loo — having “organised this party” — before being led away by a more sober colleague. Boots has a suggestion for him: next time, organise more toilets.
