Biennale gossip: Creature comforts
Who’s been given the five-star treatment in Venice — and who hasn’t?
Architects who took part in Chipperfield’s Arsenale show were rewarded for all their hard work with three nights at the Danieli, one of Venice’s swankiest hotels.
Meanwhile, architects — sorry, explorers — working for the British Council had to pay for their own hotel, having stumped up most of the money for their exhibits.
At least they could take comfort in the fact that the British Council had shelled out £15,000 for PR — or could they?
Reviews of the British Pavilion have so far been lukewarm to hostile.
