Works by Foster, Rogers and Hadid to be auctioned for charity
26 October, 2009
Works by top architects are to go under the hammer to raise money for built environment charity Article 25, which designs and builds schools, health centres and homes for some of the poorest people on earth.
The Art for Architecture charity auction on December 3 will feature pieces by David Chipperfield, Richard Rogers, Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, Toyo Ito and Rafael Viñoly, as well as artists including Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Anthony Gormley, Tracey Emin and Douglas Gordon.
All the money raised by the auction at the Louise T Blouin Foundation in west London will go to Article 25, a four-year-old charity named after the 25th article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which has worked on more than 40 projects in 15 countries, providing shelter to an estimated 15,000 people.
The Art for Architecture catalogue will be available to download from November 4 at www.article-25.org/-art-for-architecture-.htm
Sealed bids for the art works can be made in advance to bids@article-25.org
