Wood works: shortlist announced

A jury chaired by Giles Downes of Sidell Gibson Architects, selected the shortlist from more than 200 entries for the awards, which recognise excellence in timber-based architecture.

Contenders include Apethorpe Hall, currently being restored by English Heritage; Adnams Store and Café (pictured) by Ash Sakula; Simon Conder’s El Ray house; Niall McLaughlin’s Deal Pier Café; and Dixon Jones’ Kings Place concert hall.
