Stride Treglown heads West

3 July, 2009

Planning has been granted for the second phase of a project at the University of the West of England, in Bristol, designed by Stride Treglown

The £10 million R Block Phase II will house the Faculty of Environment & Technology, which runs the university’s architecture and planning courses.

The 2,700sq m project will provide teaching and office space, a café and conference facilities, with a new plaza to the south of the building.

The design, Breeam-rated “excellent”, features a straw-bale cladding panel enclosing the lecture hall, and rain-screen cladding made from 93% recycled slate and clay.
