Given most Architects will be reliant on the information provided by material suppliers, and the assurances of their sales agents, that materials and systems meet the building regs, I have to wonder where all these tests leave the profession.

Are we to be considered negligent if we believe take the word of suppliers for granted, and not commission our own full scale mockup tests?

Maybe that is going to far, but where now do we start the process of specifying cladding and other materials, and just as importantly, where do we stop?
