Idea Store Whitechapel is my local library. I think the external façade treatment holds up both in concept and execution but less so the interior planning and routes through the building which were somewhat flawed from day one.

The building is now substantially reconfigured including the closure of the external escalator and entry points at the upper levels which happened shortly after completion. Also the fiction section was relocated to the ground floor and replaced with a top floor as a function / exhibition space. Plus the whole building unfortunately feels very tired and in need of tlc.
