i still can't believe we have fallen for this old rubbish... in my discussions with a landscape architect friend, he points out that the trees shown in the images will require a certain root depth and spread otherwise they will topple over in the wind which often blows a bit faster than average down the Thames.... so either they have some clever under root retention system (they can't go too deep because of height under the bridge and dead load restrictions - wet soil is very heavy stuff) or the trees have to be a lot lower!!!! i wonder which it will be??
