@STEPHEN BALLINGER, There is a requirement to be a member of the RIBA if one wants to call themselves a CHARTERED ARCHITECT, which to the public looks good and suspect would help an architect get work. Most of the public are familiar with the RIBA as opposed to ARB. Client's need explaining to, when they ask what ARB is, whereas RIBA seems a more universal title to have after an architects name.
What I'm saying is RIBA need to take the function of ARB into their own hands by promoting our profession and protecting our title.
