Reminds me of some of Kate Macintosh's comments on a video clip on John Grindrond's blog - in the 60s the prominent things on the London skyline was towers of housing for working people, now it's all skyscrapers for banks and towers for the super rich, which tells you the direction that society has gone.

The proposal brought, about by international royalty and offshore hedge funds, is at least honest in its use of bombastic classical architecture to drag us back to a pre-democratic era where accidents of birth define power.

It's class war made concrete (or in this case Portland stone).
