It's definately a problem needing a design solution. At the moment it's all passive-aggressive hand-holding, dings and tuts.

I even saw a runner who'd got pushed into the canal by a cyclist. An off-duty police officer had seen it and pounced on the cyclist, pining him to the ground with the runner standing next to him, incandescent with rage and dripping everywhere. It was really funny.
