I'd have thought you'd have wanted as little insulation as possible and the optimum wall thickness to ensure that your daytime heat penetrates to the inner face of the thermal mass by evening and has dissipated by morning? (i.e. pretty much the basis for construction in all vernacular Mediterranean building). Munter, as I'm sure you know, in most of Europe their building regs allow for entirely massive construction (vs. the pretence of massive construction that we have to try to pull off owing to Part L). The best example of this to my mind is Patrick Gartmann's House in Chur which is entirely in miropor concrete and with solid 500mm walls achieves a U-value of around 0.4, which obviously we could never get away with here for a new build.
