3D-Reid have worked on the application for 10 years, yet could not show the Planning Inspector or the participants at the inquiry what the windows in the 18 floor building would look like, what the concrete treatment would look like, what the landscaping on the seafront would look like, what the elevation facing Dreamland would look like (the application contained 4 completely different solutions, one with concrete panels, one with coloured metal panels and one with "affordable mesh and brick footing. When asked her opinion on the design of the rear elevation of the superstore, facing Dreamland Heritage amusement park with it's group of Grade II and Grade II* Listed structures, the Council Heritage Officer said " I can't say because we don't know what it will look like, we just have some artistic impressions of ideas".
